Allison J. McCabe

Allison J. McCabe is a licensed Florida attorney practicing primarily in family law, dependency, appeals and guardianship cases. Ms. McCabe was admitted to practice law in the State of Florida since 2007. Ms. McCabe started her legal career as an Assistant State Attorney for the Seventh Judicial Circuit in Volusia County, Florida. As an Assistant State Attorney, she prosecuted criminal cases on behalf of the citizens of the State of Florida. This work consisted primarily of making charging decisions and conducting non-jury and jury trials. She also represented the State in Baker and Marchman Act proceedings, and is thus well versed in the availability, application and impact of those interventions. Through this work she gained invaluable trial experience that still provides an incredible ballast for her current civil trial work. In addition to her trial experience, Ms. McCabe learned the value of developing an obsessive attention to the relevant rules of evidence and procedure governing her cases. This focus often opens novel opportunities and avenues upon which to resolve cases.
Ms. McCabe left the State Attorney’s Office in 2011 to join the Florida Office of the Attorney General as an Assistant Attorney General in Hillsborough County. She managed both litigation and appellate work in the arena of child dependency for the State of Florida. Through this work she gained experience identifying and advocating for child victims of abuse and neglect. She spent time representing the State in dependency drug court and as a result is well versed in the impact substance abuse can have on a family unit.
In 2014 Ms. McCabe brought all this experience back home to Volusia County to join her mother in private practice. She brings to bear her considerable litigation experience and innate compassion to assist people and families in crisis. Since 2017, she has volunteered with the Statewide Guardian Ad Litem Office as an appellate advocate and has been recognized as a “Best Interest Defender” for her rigorous advocacy on behalf of abused, neglected and abandoned children.

Ms. McCabe was born and raised in Volusia County and is an Epiphany Catholic Church parishioner. She spends her free time enjoying our area’s natural wonders and is also a dedicated member of Orange Theory Fitness. She loves reading, her family and cheering and supporting her wonderful stepdaughter in her academic and dance endeavors. Ms. McCabe’s chocolate Labrador, Finn, is the king of her heart and home.
